Completed Projects

One of our most influential projects in 2020 was a study on the introduction of the wealth tax in Germany to finance the economic crisis as consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The final report paved the way for better-informed policy making and shaped the public debate in Germany. It examines the pros and cons of a one-time wealth tax and is grounded on the frontier of academic research in that field. For the conduct of this project, Munich Economics has co-operated with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
